Alpha 15 Server

From what I've gathered over the time of running the Z-Day PvE server, people still come back here to check out the website for further info.  That's good.  We have good news today.  Even though Z-Day PvE server has not come back, we've had a member who has been gracious enough to start a server and wouldn't mind some of you joining.  So head onto 7DtD and look for:

SpecialK  <---server name

Under the modded section.  There are no mods but some defaults were changed and threw them under the mod category.  Come on and join us, we'll see you there.

Welcome Back!

The number of people who have registered sits rather low right now.  Only 7 people including myself.  Yes, I registered to see if the code worked.  So SIX people have only registered.  Now I know what you're thinking.  We need to open up the server so people can hop on when they want.  That answer is NO.  Right now I leave my doors unlocked on certain buildings because I am not worried about a single soul who has registered coming up to any of my homes and stealing stuff.  I like that feeling, as I am sure most of the people who have registered like that feeling.  So, we'll stay locked up.  Eventually people will register and the server will start to thrive like it did in the past.  We already have a lot of good people on here and I do not intend on running them off because we opened the server to trolls.

With that being said, Discord is not a good way to check and see if someone is playing on the server.  Not a lot of people are using it yet.  We just started the server 3 weeks ago, after a several month break.  Once the server gains popularity again and the numbers have to be increased on the server for more people to play, then I'm sure Discord will be a viable way to find out if people are playing.  If you are wondering what the times are in which people play currently, here they are:

Our average users, including me tend to play:

Between the hours of 5 pm - 9 pm Monday - Thursday
Between the hours of 8 am - Midnight, Friday & Saturday

And Sunday is quite sporadic so I cannot give you a good window.  I'm usually on in the morning.

Either way, just an update as to what's going on with the server.  I wanted to let some of you know how the most of our players schedules are.

Keep this in mind, not every single player who play's on Z-Day PvE uses voice chat either.  Some like to just type.  I am not one of them but I will not hop on discord until I see someone in game who uses voice chat.

See you in game!

Registration Continues

So far we've had a good run with people registering to play on Z-Day PvE.  It'll typically start off slow then it'll pick up speed.  Word of mouth and Facebook, friends, Google, etc...

We're glad to have you guys/gals aboard the Z-Day Train.  Over the past couple of days, I've personally viewed some of the people registering.  Some of your names I recognize, and others are absolutely new.  So here's some tips to get you going on the server.

Talk to our community.  We all LOVE to help others.  Don't think that we'll do everything for you but we've got no problems lending a helping hand.

Freebies, they don't exist (maybe sometimes).  Do not immediately come on the server and say "give me this or that".  First off, it's rude.  Ask politely.  This is your only warning.  Rudeness is not tolerated.  Smack talking is totally allowed though.

A biggie!  Do not place land claims in the cities or towns.  This is your warning and there are some when you join as well.  Those that are found doing this will be banned.  Simple!

Finally, we all know it's a PvE server and this should go without saying...  Do not steal, kill another player, break into someone's house (even if you think it's a pre-fab since everyone has asked me about mine, I built it).

We love our small (ATM) community and hope it grows into a thriving one like it did in the past. So, excuse my negativity and take this positively.  I'm looking out for everyone who wants a good time without the drama.  Drama will be dealt with swiftly as well.  Consider it a BAN.  We play to relax and socialize, build, and kill zombies.  So, I'll see you on the playing field.

Respectfully,

Weston

Whitelist Continues But Accepting New Players

So the previous post lets you know that the server has come back online and that it is whitelisted. Well, here's the deal.  It's going to stay that way for a while.  We have some things that we're working on to make the server just as good, if not better than the last go around.  Even though the server is currently whitelisted, this does not mean that you cannot have access.  Click on the registration tab and answer a few simple questions.  At the end of the form, you'll have to leave an email address so that we can inform you if you've been given access or not.  We have no intentions of spamming you.  It is only that one email and only email that you'll receive from us, unless you email us back for some reason.

Your email, it goes to nobody else.  It's a simple contact for us, then we're done.  So rather than wait and hope that this server takes its whitelist down, why don't you register and be one of the few people who took the moment to fill out a small form.  You get to hit the ground running with the others and you'll also get the advantage of getting a glimpse at what is being worked on.  Yeah....this ain't your normal server...

Finally, we're not 100% sure we'll ever unlock the server.  A lot of people like the security that a whitelist server comes with.  They feel the safety and understand that taking that little step of filling out a form has secured their position within the server and community that is tight knit and looking out for each other.  Trolls...they don't get on here and if they do, they are not on for long.  Take care and we look forward to seeing you on the server.

WE'RE BACK!

To some of you, it may have been difficult to see Z-Day PvE shutdown.  I'm sure many of you thought it was for good.  I on the other hand knew it wouldn't stay gone, for long that is.  Here's the deal.  We intend on bringing it back for a long haul, much longer than the last go around.  There will be some growing pains, I'm sure, but we'll get through them together.  In the meantime, the server is up and will be white-listed for a little while.  I'm doing this for those that were the originals, the supporters, the community that we all came to love.

In the meantime, keep your eyes peeled and we'll let you know when we're opening the server for others.  I'm speaking with some of the others and I will probably allow invites from some of the others playing.  They'll have to be white-listed but so long as they have a friend that vouches for them, I'm sure we can come to a reasonable ground.  We'll see you in game!

It has been fun

To most of you who actually still read the website, I thank you!  This may...MAY...be my last post on here.  I'm not sure what we'll do with the website to be honest.  I may use it as a template later for when and if I decide to start this back up again.  There has been no word of alpha 14, unfortunately. In light of this knowledge, most of you that I talk to should know by now that I have intentions of shutting the server down.  I want to let you all in as to why.  You'll find it below:

1)  It is tough being an administrator and honestly, I just wanted to play the game with most of you.  Unfortunately, I could not because of the overwhelming amount of asses who felt they needed or wanted things.  (Dan warned me about this)

2)  I have school starting back up on the 3rd of April, 2016.  I certainly will not be able to handle school, family, and 50% more whining children on Z-Day PvE.  I have to set my priorities.  Do not get me wrong, I still intend on gaming, so we'll see what happens.

3)  Lastly, I just want to play the damn game.  Run around, scavenge, shoot things, survive, build, etc.  I did not get to do any of those things when I would jump on my own server.  All I was doing was catering to those aforementioned "problems".  Let's be clear and perfectly honest right now...I dislike most of you.  :-)

So here's the situation and my suggestion.  I have emailed my server company today and have asked them if we can get this thing shut down earlier i.e. today.  I suppose you'll find out if that's happened if you do not see it online today.

(EDIT:  Server will not shutdown until the 26th of March. Due to pay advance through that date.)

My suggestion:

JC has created a server that is titled "No Asshats Allowed".  It is a modded server and I played on it over the weekend.  They have that crap called the compo pack or whatever the hell they named it. She's also set loot respawn at 5 days.  All of the things that were on my server such as the zCoins, zCoins shop, zGates, sethome functions are on her server as well.  I encourage you to jump to her server and start playing on it.  She just reset the day count yesterday and I have seen my fair share of zombies on there.  Hell, littlered and I fought a horde yesterday that was so overwhelming that I had to run and hide with my bow, while littlered died and logged off until 4 am.

7 Days to Die is now fun again because I'm actually playing instead of being the administrator.  I do not have to focus on any of you.  If you do choose to come over there and you want to hang out.  Add me on Steam.  Its honestly fun starting over every once in a while.

One last thing before I sign off.  Here are the people that I actually liked and wouldn't mind having you added on my steam friends list.

The rest of you who actually have posted in the forums and contributed to the in-game society, thank you.  If your name is not on the list, it means one of two things.  I accidentally forgot you because I didn't get the valuable play time with you like I wanted....or....I simply did not like you.  I'm sure you know which list you belong in.  With this long ass post telling you everything on my mind.  I hope to see many of you in the future.  I'll be on JC's server tonight and maybe I'll see some of you on there.

Have a hap-hap-happy day!

The end has come

I've been watching the server for several days now.  It's been... pathetic to say the least.  It's hard to keep everyone on a game when they feel as if they've accomplished everything or the administrator has given up on you.  I certainly hadn't given up on you.  I was still working on event, which due to inactivity... has been canceled.  Finally, the main reason for the post tonight is to inform everyone that on March 26th, 2016, we will be shutting the server down.  There may be a little hope for it if alpha 14 drops before then but at this point I'd say it's gone from 32 to nothing very quickly.  I appreciate everyone for supporting the server since it's been online and I will not forget you.  Most of you have been added to my Steam friends list.  If you have not added me and would possibly like to play other games, please do.  I always enjoy the company of others.

Time is running out

As the quarantine event approaches, time is running out for the admins to get this knocked out.  Don't worry about us though...we'll have it done by Saturday, easily.  There is something that you do need to worry about though, and, that is your bullet count.  I have seen a very small group of people playing lately on the server which means several things.  So here we go:

1)  People are bored (I get that, I'm ready for alpha 14)
2)  You have enough ammo to survive the Quarantine event?
3)  With lack of admin engagement, you feel lost?
4)  Not enough zombies
5)  Zombies are too hard now
6)  The typical blah, blah, blah

Whatever the reason for not playing on the server lately, we have made up our minds on what we'll be doing in the future.  We will be lowering the player count down to 16 again.  If the server numbers continue to dwindle, we will indeed shut the server down.  Quite unfortunate if you ask me.  I do think Alpha 14 will breathe some new life into the game and hopefully fix a lot of the bugs that are currently plaguing the game too, but, if it does not release in Feb. like it has been planned and it comes later in march, we'll probably have lost most of you for a long time.  In that time I am sure we'll have made the decision to shut the server down too.

I have noticed that most of you do not read the website, so this will be taken down too...or maybe I'll change the name and just start writing my thoughts.  Something like...."My Opinion Matters" or "Thoughts of a hateful man".  Either way, we'll remove everything.  In the spirit of me liking a good amount of you, I'd still like to get some game time in with you here and there.  Add me on steam and when you see me gaming and you wanna play, hit me up.  I'll be playing Tom Clancy's:  The Division starting the 8th of March, 2016.  7 Days to Die will be dead to me for several weeks afterwards.  Just gonna warn you now.  I've been waiting for The Division for over two years now.

There ya have it.  My information for the day.  Remember to login this Saturday to participate in the epic crap fest known as Quarantine.  If you don't, so be it.

Zombies, Zombies, and More Zombies

Most of you have made some type of comment about zombies in the game, one way or another.  So, to keep things entertaining for you, I've changed a few things.

/plot should be removed because the whitelist is back online.  Sol informed server last night that it wasn't.  With that being said, make sure to do a /plot delete and get rid of them.  The constant teleporting in dogtown is bad....I mean really, really bad.  So fix it, please.

As you can see, the other change was the whitelist coming back online.  We had way too many people doing things on this server that shouldn't have been done.  I believe SkareKrow and Dodoz had their homes broken into and I'm sure the diner at this point has nothing left in it.  All of these are unfortunate circumstances.  SkareKrow and Dodoz, if you'd like your stuff back please let me know once I login today.  I'll take care of it.

The whitelist is not going to be taken down anymore.  Since I have made modifications to the settings we will not even show up in the average server list.  It's horrible and will probably not result in more people showing up.  I feel the changes needed to be made though.  If the server does dwindle down to next to no people, we will shut the server down.  Talk to your friends, get them on, and let them tell their friends.  Post our Facebook page and website on your Facebook page.  Get the word out there and we should see acceptable numbers to keep the server alive.

The major changes that place us in the modded section now are as followed:

Zombies increased to 75 from the original 50.  More zombies.  Anything 80 and above has been known to cause massive frame rate issues, so before you start spouting off that we still need more zombies...reread what I just said and keep that snarky comment to yourself.

The spawn rate was set at 100%.  This means that there are 75 zombies spread out across the map and not just one persons location.  The objective of 100% is to keep 75 zombies on the map at all times. We're not really seeing this and the /day7 thing doesn't really work as it should, not to mention the game is buggy as all hell.  If we could keep 75 zombies around each one of you S.o.B's that keeps complaining about zombies, believe me, I would but I cannot.  So in an effort of you killing one and having another one pop up in it's spot, we've increased the percentage to the max of 150%.  SUCK IT TREBEK!

Finally, we toyed with the notion of zombies running all the time.  I was immediately told that this person wouldn't play and that person wouldn't play.  So I changed it back to zombies only run at night and I increased the zombie difficulty.  We'll see how this plays out.

I'd like you guys to know that I really do enjoy playing with most of you.  It's fun and has it's moments but I see you guys fading away and playing other games, just like myself.  It's tough when you feel you've set up everything you need to handle a zombie scenario.  I myself am looking forward to a wipe, just to be honest.  I hope that Alpha 14 drops soon and we can all drop back in the game with eagerness to see what new crapfest the fun pimps have thrown at us.  Keep in mind IT'S STILL AN ALPHA.  I am stepping down from being an administrator after today.  I will no longer be able to personally help you and server will be limited in how and when she may be able to help you.

We are choosing to take a more "hands off" approach.  Other than that, we hope you have a wonderful day and we'll see you in game.

No Whitelist Until Further Notice

As the title says, there will be no whitelist until further notice.  We need to try and snag some new people back into the server.  Breathe a little bit of life back into it, you know?  In the meantime, we have activated the /plot buy system.  I explained everything last night in Discord and Server also told everyone in the chat window.  If you were not there then you'll have to get the information relayed from another player.  I'll log back into Discord tonight for any of those that may have other questions after last night.

Take it easy and we'll see you in game.

Welcome to Quarantine!

In Quarantine people will be transported to a large arena that has several homes and building complexes they can hunker down in. The military has seized control and hope is being consumed by massive zombie hordes. Survival seems futile, but for the band of Z-Day PvE'ers, those zombies have another thing coming... or do they? As bullets fly and people die attempting to regain control, who will win in this new epic event?

Rules are as followed:

1) This is a PvE event.  Killing others will result in a ban unless both parties agree it was accidental.  It might be a good idea to add those people upon arrival to the Quarantine Zone.

2)  You will have your own items with you.  If you do not want certain things to come in and possibly get destroyed, drop it off at your house prior to the event.  Server will be giving messages in the chat window and Irascible Joker will be giving updates in Discord.

3)  There is no whining if your bag disappears because this is an alpha game and zombies can also destroy your bags.  You will not get this stuff back.  There will be items thrown all over the area.  You should easily be able to find weapons when you are in short supply.  Excessive whining and complaining will EASILY result in a ban.  Nobody wants to hear it, so that is the way we'll fix it.

4)  Do not take another players bag, you will be banned.

5)  Make sure to have a /sethome marker prior to the event so that you can go back home upon its completion.

6)  Members will be given a sleeping bag to place down at their safe location within the Quarantine Zone.  Where you place them is up to you, but you must place them within the zone before Quarantine activates.

***DO NOT ASK FOR ANYTHING!  EVERYTHING WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU THAT IS REQUIRED.  WE WILL NOT REPEAT OURSELVES OVER AND OVER.***

This event is not on a volunteer basis like the Colosseum event. EVERYONE shall participate. Welcome to Z-Day PvE and welcome....to Quarantine.

Bottom line, enjoy the game and the company, and work in groups any way you can to survive the Quarantine Zone.
As for rewards, since some of you will ask.  The rewards are what you find in the zone.  Keep it, it's on us!  Finally, if you do not think gaming with others AND admins building events are reward enough, you are more than welcome to join another server that does not do what we do.  We aim to bring new things to the 7DtD scene.

No Anger Games, but we have Quarantine

After speaking to the players on Z-Day PvE last night we realized that most of you have no intentions of logging in on the day of The Anger Games.  I was a little shocked and mostly disappointed.

In any case, I would rather have you playing on the server than waiting out an event that nobody plans on participating in, minus 5 people.  We are hereby changing the event from "The Anger Games (Purge)" to a PvE event known as Quarantine.  All players online will be teleported to this event but we will not be shooting each other.  Instead, we will be working together in a militarized quarantine zone.  The website will be updated this evening with more details and the countdown timer will be adjusted to work better with the schedule of this event.

We'll see you in game!

A Bit of This and That

We've done the update for allocs server fixes, hopefully that wasn't the source of our sound issues, but, just in case.  Secondly, I want to say thank you to those that have donated recently.  I would like everyone to say "Thank you" to these people because they are allowing the server to maintain and get upgrades such as the additional information I shall list below their names.

Jim240
Nerix ~ donated twice as of last night
Homerdog
BeckyXP
JRz
Dan Orcshein
KID

Once again, thank you!

So, the update that should help us out a lot and it's one that people have been asking for, is:

The Plot System provided by the Cloud-based Server Manager allows players to create and maintain their own plots of land.

The plot system is not a replacement for a land claim block, but works in addition to.

Instead of reducing damage dealt to your home, the plot system prevents trespassing completely.

Plots can be locked
Plots can be turned into Player Operated Shops ~ DAN, have at it!  Remember taxes though.

Plots can be taxed - Taxes are taken daily at 1:00AM EST, from the plot's balance.
If a plot is unable to pay it's taxes, it will be deleted.

Two plots cannot exist in the same location, but can be adjacent
Locked plots cannot be entered unless you are CBSM friends with the owner
If you enter a plot that is locked, and you are not friends with the owner, you will be ejected from the plot
Locked plots will no longer unlock after any amount of time Recently Updated

zCoin Support - Assign an optional zCoin cost to owning a plot
Jail Support - Owners can defend their property without risk of a jail sentence
Plot System Configuration
Plots can be restricted from being created near spawn (coordinates 0, 0)
zCoin cost per plot is optional and configurable
Plot radius can be configured Changing this after plots have been created can cause them to overlap! Be cautious.
This functionality requires that the 'Persistent Server Link' option is sent to active.

Player Plots Commands

/plot buy - Purchases a plot at the place the player is standing

/plot deposit {#} zCoins - Adds the defined {#} of zCoins to the plot's balance

/plot withdrawal {#} zCoins - Removes the defined {#} of zCoins from the plot's balance

/plot activate vendor - Converts the plot into a Vendor/Shop, if enabled. Will attempt to use plot-balance first, and then owner's wallet.

/plot lock - Locks the plot you are standing in

/plot unlock - Unlocks the plot you are standing in

/plot set name {name} - Sets the plot name to {name}     90 character maximum

/friend add {name} - Adds the defined friend to your CBSM friend list

/friend remove {name} - Removes the defined friend to your CBSM friend list

/friends - Displays a list of your CBSM friend list

Alpha 13.8 Sound Issues

Since the 13.8 update we've noticed some other issues that are quite troublesome to most of us on this server.  The sound issue.  What sound issue you ask?  You've experienced it at some point but may not have noticed it.  Either way, the sound issue that we speak of is the sound dropping completely out from the game.  Not just one thing like the old 9mm sound, but ALL sounds.  It is definitely causing some trouble.  I myself found it hard to game and build the Anger Games (Purge) Arena due to lack of sound.  Will this stop any of us or all of us from playing?  No.  We love the game!

Just be aware that we are scouring the internet looking for workarounds or fixes for this.  We will keep you posted as soon as we find something and if you happen to figure it out or find a reason, post it in the comments box so that we can get back to playing how the game should be played.

Take care and we'll see you in game!

Implemented Rules and Issues

We all know that we've implemented some other rules, mainly, the new one dealing with registration and the whitelist.  This isn't something we wanted to do but it's something we had to do.  We want to keep your guys/gals stuff safe with little impact on everyone.  The whitelist and registration helps us with that.  Everyone is protected since no random trolls are getting one and we get to scan them prior to allowing access.  It's a win win as we see it.

This is just a quick post but I also want to let you know that not EVERYTHING is an emergency and warrants contacting me.  Errors are going to happen, it's an alpha game.  Most of you have finally learned that excess contact is unnecessary but there are still some of those that feel that they need to do it when it something small, and mostly on their part i.e. your internet connection is slow, your computer isn't strong enough to handle this glitchy game, your friend cannot get online because they did not give the right information during registration.

Those are all small things and need to be looked at on your end.  If you feel this is directed at you, it probably is.  You know who you are and I do to, obviously, but not everyone else.  So don't get offended and butt hurt because that's not what I'm here to do.  I really just want you all to know that you do not need to contact me with every little issue.  I have discord on my phone for emergencies or upgrading the server like what I did with 13.7.  Server updated within minutes of being notified!  But if it continues to be .... such as the things above are showing, I'll have to remove discord from my phone and allow only email contact which will be much slower and at my leisure.

I'm not mad, upset, or ticked off.  I just want you to know that I have a life outside of being a slave to the server, website, video editing...etc.  It's rare, but it is there.

You all have wonderful night and I'll see you in game.  Hopefully with a lot less errors.

Server Registration Made Simple

You've made it to our website somehow and I will not complain about that but you've obviously come here with certain intentions.  I imagine that you would like to play on our server.  That is wonderful and we will accept you with open arms.  There is only one thing you must do and it is really simple.  You have to register and the server password will be emailed to you.  The registration process takes less than 3 minutes and approx. ten minutes later; if everything checks out, you will be granted access to one of the most popular 7 Days to Die PvE servers currently running.

If you did not notice upon coming to this site, the registration tab is near the top of the page next to "Contact".  Click on there, answer the simple questions and you are on your way.  Thank you for taking the time to register.

We look forward to seeing you in game!

What to do next?...

After last week/weekend, I have had to really put some thought into this server manager, in-game admin thing.  You see, I love playing with each and every one of you but it has come to the point that every time I login I spend most of my time aiding you in something you've lost or something someone else has messed up i.e....excessive trees, minibikes, etc.  Honestly, I do not mind helping and I really do like helping but I also like to play the game.  I'd like to build more events for people to experience.  I'd like to not just be an admin in which everyone jumps at for when something disappears.  It doesn't seem to be going that way though.

Over the weekend I managed to get a little bit of game time in again while up at the butt crack of dawn.  Mike was doing his thing and I was doing mine.  We had our typical weekend talk about games, things we do, what we were doing in game.  That sort of thing.  The sort of thing most of you experience every time you login to the server.  I on the other hand can really only experience that while up early in the morning with Homerdog, Mike, Nerix...

I hopped off last night and within minutes the Discord chat is blowing up with issues.  Issues, which, if given the information, would allow me to aid you anyway I can.  Without the info, I can do nothing if I am not experiencing it myself.  Now, I'm not sure what caused these issues, or who and what may have caused them but it seems that I roughly get two solid weeks of people playing before something goes crazy.  I do not think it is a coincidence and I do not think that it is ONE single player is causing these issues either.  No blame is going to anyone and if we could blame someone, they would be kicked and banned.

I wanted this server to be a place for people to gather and play and enjoy the company of one another, and for the most part that seems to be happening.  As our rankings go up we seem to be attracting more and more people.  I'm absolutely thrilled about this.  Unfortunately the game cannot keep up with the amount of people we are trying to throw at it.  Soooo, I have come up with an idea that I would like to throw out there.

I am thinking of making the server a password protected server.  It will require registration on our website.  You will not be getting spam mail or anything of that nature.  It is so I can keep track of who is allowed and who is not.

Those that have played since the first server are "grandfathered" in and have no need to register.  I want it protected so that we do not have trolls joining.  It's a lot of work for a troll to go through to just get on and get kicked off.  This will also allow me to see if people are in the global ban list prior to them attempting to join.  I didn't want to go in this direction but I need to keep structure within the game and with the constant logging in and logging out, it tears away at the server RAM causing me to reboot 4 times yesterday.  I may also be knocking the server back to 16 as well and seeing if someone wants to admin a second server named Z-Day Pve II.

Will this split some of us up?  Quite possibly.  But not everyone on the server plays with everyone on the server.  We would still use our Discord and I'll create a Channel for Z-Day PvE II.

Finally, if what has happened to the server cannot be fixed...prepare for a wipe....AGAIN!

Between falling buildings in water, items flying across the map, and the constant minibike issues...it really causes overall issues on the server.  The minibikes are a major problem and the only work around is to not use them.  This is why I do not use them.  I hope that I can fix the issues today but if not, remember, it's alpha and we know better.

Give me your thoughts and comments

Early Shutdown and Maint

With all the messages and errors and this and that popping up on the server...we feel it's a good idea to take a look at what the hell is going on.  If you see errors, copy them in the FORUM, that's what the ERROR, ERROR, ERROR Irascible Joker area is for.  I need this information to see what problems are occurring and why they are occurring.  Please post any info in there prior to 730 pm CST tomorrow (1-25-2016).  This is when I am taking the server down to check out issues.

Have a good night and we'll see you in game

EVENT TIME!

Hey, all you Z-Day PvE fans!  It's SATURDAY and we all know what that means.  It's event day. We hope you've had a wonderful day thus far and that it only gets better.  The first event of our server kicks off tonight at 5 pm CST at the Colosseum!  After all the talks between our admins we have come to a decision to allow teams of two in the arena at the same time.

SO PARTNER THE HELL UP!  It's gonna get REAL up in there.

Let's go over the rules.  Two man team required.  Volunteer basis.  You do not have to participate in the event, you can watch.  Those that participate will earn zCoin rewards and the possibility of a minibike with 2000 gas.  1st place takes the bike!  You probably want to know the rules, so here they are:

1.  To participate, you need a team of two.
2.  When entering the gladiator hallway, you dump all items on you in the chest to the right
3.  Each player takes all items they get to participate with from the left chest
4.  Each player will enter the arena and go to the center, letting Joker know when they are officially          "ready".
5.  The object is to stay alive and kill off the overwhelming amount of Zeds as quickly as possible.
6.  If you die, the event is done for you.  (If your team mate manages to survive and kill all zombies, then both of you progress to the next round)
7.  On exit from the arena you will place server given items back in the left chest and pick your items back up from the right one.
8.  If both of you die, do not worry about the backpacks on the battlefield.  Admins will handle this.

There will be 4 rounds that will become increasingly harder as they go on.  May your skill save you. We'll see you at the event.

New In-Game Chat Commands

By now most of you have noticed people typing /this and /that and you are sitting there wondering "WTF are they doing?"  It is simple, those commands actually do something.  So, while you're here, take a look at what we've updated.

There is now an online server shop, which is mainly meant for cosmetics but you can find a few useful items on there such as brass, lead, nitrate powder and coal.  Yes...all those things to make ammo.  Here's how to do it:

/wallet ~ this shows how many zCoins you currently have (earned from playing and killing Zeds)
/shop list ~ shows a list of the categories currently attached to the server store

Currently we have the categories below:

/shop building ~ building supplies
/shop metals ~ lead and brass
/shop decor ~ bookcases, doors, etc..
/shop minerals ~ coal, nitrate etc..
/shop misc ~ obviously misc. item
/shop books ~ leather tanning, concrete book, steel, etc...

Those are the ones that currently exist.  If you want to buy things then type in things such as:

/buy 21618
/buy 21619

I know you're asking yourself "what is with the numbers?"  The numbers are what shows up next to the item you want.  That is how it is classified in game.  So that is what the numbers are for.

The item will drop at your feet and we highly encourage you to buy something while indoors.  Items drop on the ground and have a tendency to shoot across the map.  You will not be reimbursed as this is an alpha game and there are bugs.  If you buy and it flies, consider it a learning lesson and try a different spot to purchase.

Finally, let's get to the newest thing.  WAYPOINTS!

Each person can create up to 5 waypoints, private waypoints.  None of your friends can use your zGate waypoint.  It is yours and only yours at the cost of 500 zCoins for creation.  Yes, it costs zCoins to create a zGate and it costs 20 coins to use them after creation.  It's an investment, look at it that way.

So, you created a zGate by typing /zgate create {name} and obviously the name is whatever you named it.  You got your 500 zCoins taken and now you are way the hell away from the gate but want to get to it.  Simply type /zgate visit {name} and BOOM, you're there at the cost of 20 zCoins.  This also has a time limit of 60 minutes.  So, make sure when you are traveling that you can wait the time to use it again if necessary.  We do not have intentions of adjusting this time limit because people will use it too often and take away from their traveling experiences.  I'll write the commands below just in case you didn't want to read....

/zgate create {name}
/zgate visit {name}
/zgate list ~ this shows a list of the waypoints you've created, in case you forget the names.
/zgate delete {name} ~ allows you to delete a zgate you've created.

REMEMBER!  It costs 500 zCoins to create one and you do not get your money back if you delete one.

I think this about covers it.  Have fun and we'll see you in game!

How to Use Discord

Whoa!  Hold on.  It really is not.  So let us show you a picture of what you'll see when you join on our Discord link.  This is what you'll see below:

We have highlighted the word "General" under voice chat because that is what you need to click in order to join the chat once this window has come up.  You'll see your name pop up in there and you can start talking.

Here is a complaint we get:

I cannot hear anyone or speak!

If you cannot hear someone then you may have to adjust your playback and recording settings on your computer.  This is not the fault of the application

I highly encourage you to download the application itself as I have had no problems logging in and using it, daily.

Sometimes if people are not hearing you...you may have your microphone muted...or...you don't have one.  We cannot help you there.  It is honestly your issue.  If you cannot hear us, maybe your headset or speakers are off.  Sometimes we overlook some of the simplest of things.  It happens to the best of us.

Either way, there is you intro to Discord.  If you honestly cannot join Discord from our WORKING link (I know it works and if it does not, clear your cache and history and try again) then you will never get in to hear all the fun banter.  Sorry, but we cannot be any clearer than this.

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you in game.

In Game Economy

As time goes on we can often find ourselves getting bored of certain games.  You feel as if you're doing the same things over and over again.  On our server, we aim to change that, constantly.  We don't want you logging in and wandering around aimlessly...and most of all...bored.  So, as of last night, Server took her next step at incorporating an in-game economy with an item called a zCoin. You earn these coins by simply playing the game (.25 zCoin per minute) and killing zombies (1 zCoin for every zombie killed).  Be aware though, death comes with a cost now.  A cost of 20 zCoins.

Remember, it is a survival game.  The idea is not to have the zCoin be a primary means of currency or to destroy the value of scavenging.  It is intended for those "ah shit, I need some gunpowder and I'm out but I really don't want to go looking for it now as it's late" type of scenario.  As time goes on we'd like to eventually move towards "shop owners" as opposed to a server store.  Shop owners will use the zCoin as their currency too.  You can pay them and they'll give you items they've found, in the meantime we'll place the server store on there.

We are really curious about your thoughts on this!

So a little more info on this for those that don't understand what is happening.

By typing /wallet in the text chat, it brings up how much money you have.

The list of text commands are as followed:

/shop ~ brings up all items for sale in the server store (not complete yet, so don't get snappy)
/shop ammo ~ brings up all items for sale in the "ammo" category
/shop furniture ~ obviously brings up furniture

We want to make this easy enough for people to see what is on sale, buy hey! now you want to buy something.  How do you do that?  We'll show you below.

The list of text commands are as followed:

/buy 21618 ~ currently assigned as 50 rounds of Magnum ammo
/buy 21619 ~ currently assigned to 100 rounds of 9mm ammo

We know you won't remember the numbers, that is why the /shop ___ blah blah blah thing exists. When you pull up the list of items for sale, it shows a green number next to the item.  That is the number you type after the word "buy".  Once purchased, the item will appear at your feet.  Simply hold "E" and go on about your business.

As we've seen in the game, sometimes when dropping an item on the ground, the game glitches and launches across the world.  What a WASTE!  ConcernedBob and myself came up with the enclosure work around.  Go to your house or a enclosed area and order your item.  If the item attempts to launch, it'll hit the wall and stay within your area for pick-up.  If you do not use this work around and attempt to spawn it in the middle of nowhere, be aware that you WILL NOT be given those items from server.  You took a chance....and you lost.  Be smart about it.

Finally, the /sethome and /home function cost zCoins.  It is not much but it still costs and has a wait time of 30 minutes.  While on the server you only have to use /sethome once and it costs 10 zCoins. The /home function costs 5 zCoins.  Once you log off and log back in you will have to reuse the /sethome function again.  So choose wisely or get to walking.

That is all for now.  If you have any question, comments or concerns please leave those below.  Have wonderful day and we'll see you in game!

In the Midst of New Players

While playing last night I managed to see what was going on in the text window, while also listening to those that spoke in our DISCORD chat party.  As usual, night rolled around as it always does and players hunkered down in case a horde or two came looking for them.  Fox Girl, one of the newest members asked if our almighty server had a story about her.  Well...there was a story on there if you were lucky enough to catch it...or be a part of it.  Little red started off the whole shenanigan by telling server a story then asking for one in return.  Somewhere along the line there was a band camp, flute and a AC vent.  They'll have to fill you in on those details.

As for Fox Girl who decided to speak to Server, she may be a little more hesitant after what transpired last night.  Although the story was funny, in the end, we all know what servers end game is.  While everyone gathered around the campfire, crouched, and hiding from hordes...Server told her story.  It goes on without saying that even when enthralled with a comical story from Server, you still have your guard up.  But as time passed and you let your guard down, that is when Server gives you a taste of her power.  It was funny to hear the screams and chatter from everyone who were taking part in this story as screamers began to spawn in the city around them.

As for what happened next.  Everyone did manage to survive but Fox Girl managed to...well...we all know that part of the story.  Needless to say, she needed a clean up on aisle 3 and a hot spring bath in Dog Town.

So far as we can tell, Server is just full of surprises.  Between her uncanny ability to know where you are, what is coming for you...to EVERYTHING in your inventory, there is never a dull day when server arrives on the scene.  May your scavenging hunts be bountiful and if they're not.  Do yourself a favor and do not ask Server.  She doesn't take kindly to handouts.

You guys and gals have fun out there and I'll see you in game.

The Irascible Joker

So Shall it Pass

Instead of doing the back-up last night like we have stated in the forums, I gave the guys on the server some additional time last night.  I did the update this morning around 5:45 am CST and it completed at 6:15 am CST.  Personally, I do not like having to take the server down for back-ups but it definitely needs to be done so that we do not run across the same issues as we have in the past.

On another note.  We saw another individual who decided to join yesterday by the name of DarkKiller_V2.  He decided to be a little troll and eventually got banned.  This definitely seems to be a reoccurring thing on the server lately.  I guess with popularity comes the burden of trolls and those that think they can break the small little rules that the server has.  We won't tolerate it and it's easy enough to kick and ban them as we see fit.

*As for the stolen items issue we have run across...I will look into that today.  I need these issues resolved quickly!

*We had some new people join last night and I am glad to hear that they caught up with some of the members of Dog Town.  Welcome to Z-Day PvE.  Be courteous and help others and everything will be just fine.

Finally!  The moment that most of us have been waiting for.  The COLOSSEUM event has been built and is undergoing the last few transformations and fine tuning adjustments.  It has been scheduled on the event calendar here on our website.  If you have a calendar app on your phone and you run android, it should be as simple as clicking it and adding it to your calendar so that you don't forget the event time.  I checked it out yesterday and it worked fine.  Marked on my calendar by signing into Google.  It is truly easy enough for a monkey to accomplish...or LittleRed.  ;-)

Well, that is all the information I have for you today.  You guys/gals stay safe and I'll see you in game!

The Irascible Joker

Playing by the Rules

Last night we had some people take some hits by another player.  Not only were they killed by another player but we have had some theft as well.  This server does not take kindly to those that kill or steal from other players.  Although we have not found the thief we do feel that they are still on the server.  When we find out who the thief is, and we will, you will be banned without hesitation.  If you decide to step forward and hand all items back to those players, we can overlook this and move on. The penalty is much less severe by telling the truth...I assure you.

As for the member who decided to kill people.  Well...he's already been banned but not before one of the in game admins popped off a couple rounds in him.  Good job, Jim240!

Another thing that I would like all of you to be aware of is the duplication glitch that seems to be occurring within the game.  It happens to everyone and we understand that.  It's an alpha game.  With that being said.  If the server see's you with an invalid stack, which means anything above what a "normal" stack can hold i.e.  wood = 1000 max stack, ammo = 500 max stack...you will then be notified to remove the invalid stack.  When this happens, accidentally, you need to inform the admins and server.  That way you do not pop up on the list as having an invalid stack, therefor, you are not thought to be cheating.

CHEATING IS NOT TOLERATED!

We do not want to boot people from the server and the best way to eliminate being booted is to notify the server of your invalid stack, immediately.  Secondly...DO NOT KILL OTHERS or steal their stuff. Most of the admins felt that we didn't need to say this but with having a higher population on a server it seems that it can no longer "go without saying".  Play by these simple rules and you'll be just fine.  If not, you'll be banned.

Last but not least.  We have a server shutdown that will occur tonight at 9:45 pm CST for our Monday back-up.  You will be notified prior to the shutdown but be aware that it is back-up night.  Other than that, have a wonderful day and we'll see you in game!

Server Does Not Send All Zombies

Let's clear the air here.  Believe it or not, server doors not send all zombies after you.  The game is a zombie survival game.  Server may send some here and there but it does not send enough to kill you or break your house down to nothing.  Personally, I was on last night working on the Colosseum and had a massive horde spawn in side of it along with the outside.  I spent the next hour by myself fighting these zombies while they destroyed block after block.  I had to do repairs afterwards and the damage was extensive!  It's going to happen though regardless if you believe it is server or not.

Go on 7 Days to Die and look at the forums.  People suggest moving every 7 days.  Have you moved?  Then you've created a heat signature in your house that zombies are attracted to.  So, next time you think of quitting the server because some zombies messed up your house a little bit, think about it again.  We all go through it and it's part of the game.  If you decide to leave...we say farewell.

Thanks for the Support

Tonight we officially maxed out the server!  We are so happy that we have so many people wanting to join and play on our server.  We would also like to thank those that have donated money to allow this server to upgrade from 16 to 24 starting 1-16-2016.

Jim240, Nerix, and Homerdog, we thank you for your donations and we look forward to spending much more time gaming with you on Z-Day PvE.

Extending Our Internet Presence

By now, some of you know about our website.  It's been getting a few hits here and there but certainly not the publicity we believe is required.  Have no fear though, we have created a community page through Google plus to help us.  Yes!  We have extended ourselves to a social media site with our own community page.  We already have a few followers thanks to Blaze Dragon and I hope that we gain more.  Although our website has a mobile view, it may be a little hard to follow it that way.  You have to go look for updates daily, but now, if you have Google plus on your phone and you're part of the community you will get up-to-the minute updates from our site.

That's great news for everyone!

Keeping with the momentum that this server and website have managed to gain, I feel that it is only necessary to keep you posted about some important issues.

Use the forums!  They are a great source of information and not only will it help people in game, it'll help outside of the game too.

BIG NEWS!  The Colosseum build has been accepted, coordinates given to the admins, and has started as of yesterday.  No, the event will not be on Saturday.  Go to our EVENT page and click on the calendar event to get more details.  It's always a good idea.  Once the Colosseum looks like it's barreling towards the finish line I will post the event on the calendar and our Google plus community page.

EXTRA EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!

We've gained enough traffic and population that I myself feel it's time to take a leap of faith by upgrading the amount of server slots for players.  Currently we are allocated for 16 and by tonight we have raised that bar to 24!  Congratulations to all those that have been playing and making this jump possible.  Jim240 gets a little spotlight for donating the money to make this upgrade possible for the remainder of the quarter.  THANKS JIM!

Well folks...that's all for now and seeing as it's Friday, we've got some gaming to do.  I'll see you on there tonight for all the fun and zombie mayhem we can imagine.

Clearing the Air

I believe that I need to explain something. Often, most people choose a gamer tag that portrays their personality or something important in their life. Like most gamer's I have done the same thing. With that being said, I would like to explain:

The word "Irascible" for those of you that don't know, means:

i·ras·ci·ble
iˈrasəb(ə)l/

adjective
having or showing a tendency to be easily angered.

synonyms:
irritable, quick-tempered, short-tempered, hot-tempered

jok·er
ˈjōkər/

noun
a person who is fond of joking.

synonyms:
humorist, comedian, comedienne, comic, wit, clown, card, jokester

That is the understanding and meaning of my gamer tag. This tag was thought of and contemplated for quite a few hours, days even. I searched and searched and searched before I could find something that was absolutely true about me. I suppose many of you are thinking to yourselves "great...we have a hot tempered admin" or "how the hell do those do even correlate?"

I'll tell you. I truly love to make people laugh. I love hearing them laugh and having fun. That is why I run this server, why I made a PvE server. To help people, enjoy their company, and have some laughs. I think jokes and humor are medicinal, especially to those who believe their life is miserable.

On the flip side, I am not one who takes crap...from anyone. Everyone has pet peeves and I have them too. Just like all humans, we have that red button that you don't want pushed. Last night one of my buttons got pushed and then pushed again to where the "Irascible" part of my gamer tag came out, unfortunately. Those that know what happened can criticize me, I'm okay with that but that's just me.

Here’s the last little tidbit of info regarding this. Like I said, I love helping people and making people laugh. Do not take my kindness for a weakness though. Doing so is a bad idea on your part and is one step closer to pressing my red button. You can talk trash to me all day. I am fine with that...I had more than my fair share in the military.

So as with any post, there is a point. It's not "Joker's a hot-headed ass" or "he's got a few screws loose". Not by any means. The point is to be mindful of others. Not just me BUT everyone. I highly encourage everyone to laugh, have fun, joke and help people and in the end everything runs smoothly if you thank them for their help. You don't have to give them something for helping. A thank you is enough, because in the world we live in today...we rarely get the thank you's that a vast majority of us deserve.

Okay, there you have it. My rant for the day! Enjoy the game and if you have something to say please leave a comment below.

Respectfully,

The Irascible Joker

Using the Site...LIKE A BOSS!

Are you new to the internet?  I hope the hell not!  Our site is manged and organized well enough that a monkey with no knowledge could easily navigate through it.  So with that being said...I feel you should know about some of the things going on:

1.  You found the website for our server  (we are just as surprised as you are)
2.  If you don't have Google plus, you may want to get it  (post comments are done using G+)
3.  We have daily posts...almost daily and it could be important  (read them)
4.  We have a forum for all of you who really need to get some reading done
5.  Photos that will be updated as soon as we take more photos.  They are usually uploaded that night!
6.  A contact page!  Who thought we would have had that?  Well, it exists.

We've made this site with you in mind and if there is something you think needs to be on it then let us know.  We honestly cannot run a server effectively in my opinion without you getting information from us as well as us getting information from you.

Finally, THE MOST IMPORTANT thing to read right now is this line:

If you have any errors pop up in game, please write down the coordinates and the error and post them to the ERROR section in the forum.  We truly need this to make sure everyone is running smoothly.

Now, go out there and get your game on!

As True to Life as Possible

Some of you may have witnessed or even got to experience a little taste of the event that Jim240, Blaze Dragon, and myself had started on the previous Z-Day PvE server before the wipe.  We were really hoping that the event was going to take place this Saturday but due to some unfortunate circumstances we are left at square one again.  No big deal though!  I myself have considered a rebuild of this event but I am truly not in the mindset, nor do I have the desire to rebuild something that was so large.  Jim240 and Blaze Dragon have attempted to convince me but I may need a little more coaxing.  In case you hadn't seen it...here are some details.

This is a picture taken in Verona Italy.  Yes, from an old ass cell phone.  My wife's cell phone to be exact.  Experiencing this was amazing and I wanted a lot of you to have a very similar experience in game.  In case you do not go scavenging through our website...like you should be.  After all there is tons of info on here for you.  Take a look below.

If someone were to really coax me back into this build.  I commend you.  Until then, realize what we had was something that was very close to the real thing.  Would you like to see this...finished? Started again, then finished?  Let us know in the comments section.

WE WILL REBUILD!

For those of you deciding to stick around after the server wipe, I thank you.  This really is unfortunate and was certainly the last thing we wanted to do.  We have taken the issues that transpired and informed the devs of the situation.  Although we were unable to salvage all of our hard work, we shall start a new.  As my friend stated today "look at the bright side, all the loot has respawned".

Thank you for the your time, energy, and most of all, your patience and understanding.  I look forward to seeing you in game.

Unfortunate News

It is with a heavy heart that I bring the bad news of our server.  Due to some... unforseen issues our server had to be wiped.  We have alerted the devs about the issue but the admins are now alert to what causes things like this.  The new random gen map is up.  I'll see you tomorrow evening.

Z-Day PvE Server Issues

We are currently experiencing issues with our server.  The company has been contacted and is aware of the situation.  We are hoping that a 12-24 hour rollback can be accomplished to salvage what is left at this point.  If not, I'd like to prepare you for the worst case scenario which is a whole complete wipe of the server.  I understand if you choose to leave after the wipe and I'm sorry that this may happen.  If you decide to join us after something devastating like this at least we can build a new Sanctuary, a better Sanctuary.

In closing I hope that the company can salvage our work and that you ask choose to stay with us.  I'll keep you posted as soon as I hear anything.

Coming Soon

The moment you've been waiting for.  A sneak peak at what the event is going to bring.  Prepare yourselves.  Craft, punch, shoot, RUN!  You will need all of those things in order to survive this new event that only the Z-Day PvE server is bringing to you.  So buckle up, you're in for one hell of a ride!

The construction has not been 100% completed but will be ready to host next Saturday at 5 pm CST just as planned.  Mark your calendars!
